Maternity: Take Two
Purchases
Just purchased these two goodies yesterday:
The external drive was just plug in to the comp and your go. The burner on the other hand...I dunno if it's because I have a mac or what, but the software it came with was for windows no Mac software though the box CLEARLY states "mac compatible"... so I'm downloading some software tonight...I got it to burn last night, but I cant use the lightscribe...yet (I hope) but I hope I can get to use it, it looks pretty cool. I got the burner for half of what it was worth...long story, but basically I lucked out...I NEVER luck out, so Im hoping I can make this baby reach it's full potential lol.
But now I have ROOM on my computer and can once again edit photos without having to delete precious files. Eventually I'll move everything to a online back-up site, but this fits my needs for now. And now I can make cd's without 2 hours of transporting pics from my comp to my moms to use hers. (I bought my laptop refurbished and the only thing that didnt work was the burner) So this will be good...wish me luck with this thing lol.
Oh yeah...
And just because I LOVE this shot, and hope you'll enjoy it too:
A big thanks to Kelly (pictured) for deciding she wanted to lay down. lol.
Did I EVER get around to posting photos of the little Morgan boys? Im such a slacker. lol.
Those are my Ex-Coworker from Daniel Memorial (and still friend) Don's little boys, he asked me to take these for his wife for her birthday, which he said she loved :D
Been super busy, lots of work, not TOO many pictures, but I did get together with my friend Will (aka. Flood) last weekend to take pictures of his highschool friend's family just her, her sister and their mother, but it was a fun day, they're a nice family, and they didnt want traditional portraits, so it was nice to not have to worry about posing for once, and just be able to capture life as it happens (well some were posed but it was more like them goofing around, it was so fun!. I'd post a preview of those now, but I promised them I'd let them see them first before I plastered their faces all over the internet. lol.
Im SUPPOSED to be taking Dorothy's maternity photos today, but she JUST called me to come over, "I was just watching football, come over."...Gee thanks Didi. lol. Well see if I get any shots in today. . . Monday tomorrow...YUCK.
Im such a slack off with this blog.
I really need to take a workshop... not to learn how to use my camera, I've got that down obviously, but to get the feel of a STUDIO environment. I'm so used to doing everything outside with natural lighting, that I realize I know very little about lighting equipment and flashes, and backdrops...I really want/need to learn this... I think Ill look around for one.
Flickr!
I finally have a Flickr, one that I can hopefully force myself to keep up with.

I need to make a real blog post soon, It's not that I've been slacking, but that I have been busy otherwise, taking photos (of kids of a guy I used to work with that I am still friends with, I cant post them anyway till after his wife's birthday) and job hunting (I am looking for a second job to pay for my move to California, I will be driving there so I need to make some money to save for trip expenses to get there.) I stay pretty busy, but In a good way.
Nosferatu
Okay so yeah, I needed to make this post weeks ago, but I got busy. Went to Miami for a week...but that was almost 2 weeks ago, lol. The trip was fun, went to see Britney Spears (I know, I know, I take crap for it every day.) And to a Braves Vs. Marlins Baseball game (first major league game I ever went to), and drove through Key Largo and Isla Morada, though I didnt really get to see all that much.
But I was requesting male models on facebook, because other than my nephews all I ever really shoot is girls. Alex contacted me (met him through Jocelin) and we got together to do a shoot, he came up with going to a local graveyard to do a vampire themed shoot. They dont all have a very vampy feel to them, but they came out great non-the-less.
When we first meet up at the cemetery one of the first things we see is this grave...
"Failing at life." We laughed a lot at that for a good minute before proceeding. We also found this grave towards the END of our shoot...
I just want to point out that the rim does in fact spin... oh yes, I know, marvelous right? Haha, we found lots of funny stuff, also a sign that said "No loading from dusk to dawn" which 'From Dusk Till Dawn' is the name of a movie ABOUT vampires...anyway, we couldn't resisit
we had a good time and got good shots, hope to work with Alex again soon. Here's some of the shots.
Phimmasane
Kristine and Judy who are cousins and both of whom work with me. Asked me to take some pictures yesterday of them and their kids and some of their cousins and their children. Got TONS of pictures of them, and also invited back to Kristine's house for dinner, where I tried Pho for the first time ever. (SOOOO yummy btw) they have a very close, warm and friendly family, I felt very comofortable the entire time (which is a feat for someone with social anxiety...Im learning to push through it lol)
There's so much to edit its going to take me a good bit to do, but heres a small preview, of what I have gotten done.
Quick Update
Took Some photos of Amber (friend & co-worker and also an AMAZING artist...I'll link to her website when she gets it up) this past Tuesday, we left from work and I just followed her to her apartment, we got some pictures around there.
Then we took my car and drove downtown to the Landing and walked around taking pictures out there.
I had a lot of fun shooting her. We always get along well, she accompanied me back in May to California, when I went to check out the area...Ill now be moving there at the end of the year/begining of next year. Orange County here I come! ugh so much planning to do though. One step at a time.
Update
First Blog
Asked Jocelin to stay over friday night so I see her before she left and to get some new shots of her. We went out yesterday, didnt actually get going until about 3pm. We stopped off at a park by Regency (would probably help if I remembered the name) and walked around spotting some great spots for a photo op. Lots of ants and spider webs, but got some great shots.
Onward towards Riverside we went, to a little place Jocelin had remembered seeing on a bike ride once. Was a very (small but) beautiful little spot.
Then after a short drive (can you tell we had no set destination in mind) stumbled up this park. Jocelin recognized it I had never seen it before.
I love discovering new places in a town Ive lived in for 19 years. Makes it feel like a much bigger adventure than it really is...
Then, we made our way back to downtown and headed towards TSI (local Indie club) where I got some of my favorite shots ever.
Then...OH THEN... (youre going to love this) if any of you know me, youll know Im the CLUMSIEST person you will ever meet. Hazard always finds its way to me. My lens is a fixed zoom so I needed to stand away from her for a shot, (were still behind TSI btw) So i stood on this (what looked like a heavy and sturdy) bench (even Jocelin thought so) that was up against a brick wall. Well the bench toppled forward and went left, I went right smacking my head against the wall and as I fell my arm drug against the wall and my legs buckled under in kneeling position but only to fit perfectly into one side of the underneath section of the bench leaving me stuck...did i mention there was a puddle of water I landed in? YUP leaving my whole right thigh soaked. My camera was okay the lens hood got a small scratch but nothing at all major. THANK GOODNESS. lol.
Heres the aftermath. (oh yeah that bracelet, Ive only had a month I had it custom made from a shop on etsy...cest la vie.)
BUT I got right back up, laughed about it a lot and pushed on.
